Terence Conran: why I am still opening restaurants at 81
Terence is interviewed in today’s Times about plans for our latest restaurant, the sequel to Shoreditch’s Albion caff. The second Albion will open on Bankside, just behind the Tate Modern, in the summer.
In the interview, Terence talks the Soup Kitchen café, his first London eatery (it opened just off the Strand in 1952), and what’s changed since then.
What Conran undoubtedly did was to professionalise an industry too often run as a hobby.
The piece even includes Terence’s roast chicken recipe, which we can assure you is well worth trying!
We’ll have more news on the new Albion very soon.
